5.4.08 Monique and Donovan E-Session

This was my first engagement session of the season. I met up with Monique and Donovan on a late Sunday afternoon. We were suppose to start at Love Park, but it was such a nice day and the skateboqarding crowd outnumbered us in the park. So we started across the street with the life-size game pieces. I loved the jewelry that Monique wore...she was ultra hip for downtown Philly on a lazy afternoon. These were some of my favorites from the day.

I shot my first wedding for Pete (Kreativ Photography) for this wedding season today. It was a different kind of wedding. We didn't have to shoot too many formal shots based on what the client wanted and the reception was at Johnny Brenda's Tavern in Northern Liberties (this wedding reception was the first one for the establishment I was told). I shot alot of the reception action from the balcony with and without flash for some really cool and funky shots. The food at this place was also very tasty and I definitely will be heading back there some time this year just to dine and hangout. Shooting with Pete was fun as usual, since we have similiar styles I think all the pictures kind work well in the end. Here are some of my favorites from the day. Enjoy.

2.18.2008 Master Your Craft

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to post some new stuff. 2008 marks another photographic adventure and things have been busy. I was part of a team of photographers who shot a cheerleading competition for a friend photog. A few of those pictures will be posted soon on this blog. I have also shot a few weddings and portrait sessions that you will see soon as well. But the main subject of this posting is photographic education. One of my big goals for this year is to further hone up my skills and work on marketing, hence I am going to a lot of photo seminars this year. The first one up is Master Your Craft in NYC led by two amazing pro photogs Mike Colon and Bob Davis. My girl Karina attended too and we were both overwhlemed by the knowledge, skills and ideas these gentlemen presented. It was long day and we didn't stay to shoot night life in Times Square, our bad. Maybe next time. We did take pictures with the pros though. Another post coming soon.

Roadtrip: Annapolis, Maryland

I've been shooting a bunch of weddings this summer, but I managed to find a free day and a few friends to go on a short roadtrip to Annapolis, Maryland. My last trip to Annapolis was back in 2001 with a point and shoot camera...so now I was heading back down there with my newest digital SLR camera by Nikon, the D80. Derek, Dionna, Karina, and I had a fun time being tourists in a different city and we shot alot of pictures. And of course if you happen to be in Maryland--you have to have some crabs. Friends, fun times and good food--what more can you ask for?

I was a second shooter/photo assistant for my friend Pete Kerasavich and his company Kreativ Photography. I like the opportunity to work for other photographers to help out and to learn new things and new ways of doing things. The day promised to be hot and long. The ceremony was outside in a beautiful setting...what could go wrong? The clouds grew and the sky darkened....it started raining....someone had an umbrella for the bride...her groom had a small smile for his bride to say "it was gonna be ok"...and we kept shooting through it all.
